Research indicates that an average adult camel has the capacity to cover more than 100 kilometers at 15 miles per hour without stopping for rest. The fact that an adult camel is capable of carrying a weight of 18 to 20 quintals for almost four hours without stopping for breath speaks volumes about the importance of this delightful animal that forms an inseparable part of Bikaner desert culture.
The Camel Breeding Farm in Bikaner is the only one of its kind in the whole of Asia and was established in the July 1984.
